If illustrated like real life, then the IP Address serves as a person's name or identity. In this case, as with names, each computer has a unique IP address and is different from one to another (connected to a single computer network).

2. Network Location Address

Class IP Address Division :IP address is divided into five classes, namely class A, class B, class C, class D and class E. The difference of each class is the size and number.
The class determination is done in the following ways:

  • Class B: usually used for MAN network, its Ip address is in the first part between 128-191, and its network ID is the first 2 parts. The subnet mask is 255.255.0.0  Example: 128.255.129.7
  • Class C: Usually used for LAN network, The IP Address is in the first part between 192-223, and its network ID is 3 first part. The sub net mask is 255.255.255.0   Example: 192.168.1.10

Differences Private IP and Public IPIP private is the type of IP that will use it when not need to be registered because by this type IP router will not be forwarded everywhere. Private IP in accordance with its class :

Class A: 10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255

Class B: 172.16.0.0-172.31.255.255

Class C: 192.168.1.0-192.168.255.255While the public IP is the type of IP that when will use it must be registered (to the agency IP address of course, meaning that not to clash) because this IP can roam in the Internet network traffic through the routers.
