Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop, or so-called Photoshop, is Adobe Image's image editor software devoted to photo / image editing and effects creation. This software is widely used by digital photographers and advertising companies to be considered as the market leader for image processing software, and, with Adobe Acrobat, is considered to be the best product ever produced by Adobe Systems. The eighth version of this app is called Photoshop CS (Creative Suite), the ninth version called Adobe Photoshop CS2, the tenth version called Adobe Photoshop CS3, the eleventh version is Adobe Photoshop CS4, the twelfth version is Adobe Photoshop CS5, and the latest version is Adobe Photoshop CC.

Photoshop is available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Mac OS; Version 9 and above can also be used by other operating systems such as Linux with the help of certain software like CrossOver.

In 1987, Thomas Knoll, PhD student at the University of Michigan, began writing a program on his Macintosh Plus to display grayscale images on a monochrome screen. This program, called Display, caught the attention of his brother John Knoll, an employee at Industrial Light & Magic, who recommended Thomas to turn his program into a full-featured image editor. Thomas took a six-month break from a study in 1988 to collaborate with his brother on the program, which has been renamed ImagePro. After that year, Thomas changed the name of his program to Photoshop and worked in the short term with Barneyscan scanner manufacturers to distribute copies of the program with slide scanners; "A total of about 200 copies of Photoshop has been submitted" in this way.

During that time, John traveled to Silicon Valley in California and gave a demonstration of the program to engineers at Apple Computer Inc. And Russell Brown, art director at Adobe. Both demonstrations were successful, and Adobe decided to buy a license to distribute in September 1988. While John worked on plug-ins in California, Thomas remained in Ann Arbor to write program code. Photoshop 1.0 was released in 1990 specifically for the Macintosh.

Although Photoshop was originally designed to edit images for paper-based prints, Photoshop can now also be used to produce images for the World Wide Web. Some recent versions also include additional apps, Adobe ImageReady, for that purpose.

Photoshop also has a close relationship with some other Adobe media-editing, animation, and authoring software. Original Photoshop format files, .PSD, can be exported to and from Adobe ImageReady. Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Adobe Encore DVD to create professional DVDs, providing non-linear image editing and special effects services such as backgrounds, textures and more for television, movies and websites. For example, Photoshop CS can be used to create DVD menus and buttons.

The version released in 2005, is version 9. The program is marketed under the name "Photoshop CS2." "CS" reflects the integration of Photoshop products with Adobe's "Creative Suite" application and is called "2" since it is the 2nd release version since Adobe integrates the two products.Additional additions to Photoshop CS2 such as multiple layer selecting and "warp" The curve version of the transform tool and the color replacement tool, previously present as an 8BF plug-in.

For photography enthusiasts, Adobe provides a "reduce grain" filter that can help optimize photos taken in low light conditions. To "clarify" CS product differences with previous Photoshop products, Adobe eliminates the Photshop eye symbol, which is presented in different form since version 3 to version 7. Photshop CS and CS2 now use feathers as icons and their identification forms.

CS5
The Photoshop CS3 beta version has been released for CS2 users on December 15, 2006. Unlike Photoshop CS and CS2 that use feathers as its logo, the Logo for the third edition is typographical, with white 'Ps' and blue-gradient background.

Camera RAW 3.x
The latest version comes with Adobe Camera RAW, a plugin developed by Thomas Knoll that can read several RAW file formats from a digital camera and import them directly into Photoshop. The initial version of the RAW plugin is also available for Photoshop 7.0.1 with an additional cost of $ 99 USD.

In Photoshop is an industry standard image editing program aimed at professionals of graphic raster, the price offered is quite high; Approximately US $ 600. This situation provoked some programmers to design graphics tools (graphics tools) with a more affordable price. To deal with this competition, and to confront its product piracy, Adobe introduced Photoshop Elements, another version of Photoshop that is more minimalist, at an affordable price; Under US $ 100. This product is intended for home users and eliminates some professional features.
